Here's the Dodgers' player pool for their Spring Breakout game

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Spring Training already gives baseball fans a chance to catch a glimpse of the not-so-distant future, but for the hard-core prospect enthusiasts out there, there's an even better opportunity to see baseball's upcoming stars in action.

For the third time, each Major League club's top prospects will battle it out in Spring Breakout. The Dodgers' preliminary 40-man roster is headlined by outfielders Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope, their top two prospects per MLB Pipeline, and features every player on their Top 30 prospects list.

Here's everything to know about the Dodgers' Spring Breakout game:

What is Spring Breakout?

In 2026, MLB Spring Breakout will again be a four-day event showcasing baseball’s future -- the current stars of Minor League Baseball – in 16 exhibition games played between teams composed of each MLB organization’s top prospects. The third edition will be held from March 19-22 at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums during Spring Training.

In 2027, Spring Breakout will be expanded into a single-elimination tournament format, with champions being crowned in both the Grapefruit and Cactus leagues.

When is the Dodgers' game?

The Dodgers' prospects play their White Sox counterparts at 3:30 p.m. PT on March 21 at Camelback Ranch, following the big league club's Cactus League finale against the A's.

Notable position players: OFs Josue De Paula (LAD No. 1, MLB No. 15), Zyhir Hope (No. 2, No. 27), Eduardo Quintero (No. 3, No. 30) and Mike Sirota (No. 4, No. 60)

Four of the Dodgers' five prospects on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 list are outfielders, and all of them could play in this year's Spring Breakout game. De Paula and Hope have been the most visible of this group, getting plenty of playing time at big league camp, but Quintero and Sirota are names to keep an eye on as well.

Quintero was the Dodgers' Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year and the MVP of the California League. He slashed .306/.426/.533 in 81 games with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga before being promoted to High-A Great Lakes, where he slashed .259/.384/.440 in 32 games.

Sirota, who was acquired from the Reds in the Gavin Lux trade before the 2025 season, had a strong professional debut. Between Rancho Cucamonga and Great Lakes, he slashed .333/.452/.616 in 59 games before his season ended in July due to a right knee injury.

Notable pitchers: RHPs River Ryan (LAD No. 6) and Christian Zazueta (No. 10), LHPs Jackson Ferris (No. 7) and Adam Serwinowski (No. 12)

Because Ryan is competing for a role with the big league club, it's unlikely that he'll participate in Spring Breakout. The same goes for other players on the preliminary roster who are also on the Dodgers' 40-man roster.

Zazueta's stock rose quickly in the Dodgers' farm system last year, when he was named the organization's Branch Rickey Minor Leaguer Pitcher of the Year. He spent most of the season with Rancho Cucamonga, going 7-2 with a 2.44 ERA in 16 starts, before tossing a scoreless inning in his lone appearance with Great Lakes.

Ferris and Serwinowski both ended last season at Double-A Tulsa. Ferris could be getting closer to the Majors after going 10-7 with a 3.86 ERA in 26 appearances (24 starts) last year. Serwinowski, who was acquired in a three-team deal with the Reds and Rays ahead of last year's Trade Deadline, posted a 1.86 ERA in six starts with Great Lakes before finishing his season with a cup of coffee at Tulsa.

Roster details

To accommodate the player movement involved with the World Baseball Classic and to create greater flexibility for clubs and farm directors, Spring Breakout rosters are being constructed in two phases in 2026. Clubs initially submit a preliminary 40-man player pool on Thursday, March 5, which will then be pared down to the official 23-27 man rosters on March 18.

The preliminary 40-man player pools consist of the team’s Top 30 prospects, as determined by MLB Pipeline, minus any injured players, players on a Dominican Summer League roster or players on the 40-man roster who have elected not to participate. The pools also include 10 or more additional unranked prospects submitted by the club to replace the above ranked prospects who are not participating.
