All stats through games on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Jeff Hoffman (TOR)
Hoffman is having a chaotic sort of season; just looking at recent history, he allowed zero runs through his first eight appearances in August, but then blew his next two save chances, allowing five runs in 1 2/3 innings. But Hoffman is, all the same, the strategic pick. Closers have no impact on how many save opps they're going to get -- that's entirely up to everyone else, and 62% of the Blue Jays' wins (48 of 77) have been by three runs or fewer.
Robert Suarez (SD)
MLB's co-leader with 35 saves, Suarez has remained the Padres' go-to guy even in the Mason Miller era. Not only does Suarez have a 1.66 ERA since July 1, he's had some very impressive save streaks already this year -- he actually went 15-for-15 to start the season, which included 10 saves in the month of April alone. The Padres are on a roll and vying for the NL West crown, so he's likely to get the chance to replicate that performance down the stretch.

Raisel Iglesias (ATL)
The Braves are rallying, so Iglesias is finally getting a chance to really shine in his role. In August alone, he's given up one run in 11 innings of work (0.82 ERA) and gone 9-for-9 in save opportunities -- for a sense of scale here, he entered the month with 13 saves total. Bear in mind when considering Iglesias that the Braves will play close games -- their lineup is waking up, but their injury-riddled rotation can only do so much.
Emilio Pagán (TB)
Pagán blew back-to-back saves earlier this month, which might make you a little nervous. But those two appearances were both against the Brewers during their streak of total inevitability. He's otherwise had quite a good year (2.98 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 10.3 K/9) and with the Reds playing well enough to stay in the NL Wild Card race, expect plenty of opportunities.
