Dodgers prospect Morales hits 25th homer to increase MiLB-leading RBI total

While many 19-year-olds are getting settled back into college life right now, Emil Morales is mashing baseballs. The Dodgers' No. 4 prospect continues to rake for High-A Great Lakes, and he showed again Friday why he could be a major factor for Los Angeles in the years to come.
Morales popped his 25th homer of the season in the Loons' 3-2 win over Lansing at Dow Diamond, becoming the fifth Dodgers Minor Leaguer to reach the mark this season.
It was a two-run blast for Morales, MLB's No. 24 overall prospect, extending his MiLB-leading RBI total to 113. It was also the shortstop's 27th RBI in 22 August games and his seventh homer this month -- the highest single-month total of his pro career.
Morales enters Saturday with a 1.022 OPS in August, putting him in excellent position to post his second straight month with an OPS north of 1.000.
Between Single-A and High-A this season, Morales has hit .294 with a .931 OPS. For his pro career, he's hitting .309 with 53 homers, 229 RBIs and a .963 OPS.
