Morales homers in 3rd straight game for High-A Great Lakes

Emil Morales is on a quite hot streak.
The Dodgers’ No. 4 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 24 overall, Morales homered in his third consecutive game Thursday. His 21st long ball of the year was part of an 8-2 loss for High-A Great Lakes against Dayton at Day Air Ballpark.
1-for-5 on the night overall, Morales did his damage in the fourth inning. He sent a no-doubter to left-center field in a right-on-right matchup. The 19-year-old infielder has gone 5-for-15 so far in this week’s series against Dayton, including his home runs each night.

Morales’ hot hitting dates back to mid-July. He’s posted at least one hit in 11 of his past 13 games, hitting four home runs in that span. He’s raised his High-A OPS 63 points, to .898, in the process.
Since earning his promotion to Great Lakes on May 19, Morales has also been an RBI machine. His 59 RBIs in 56 High-A games ranks second in the level since his callup, and he’s posted 16 RBIs in this red-hot 13-game stretch.
It helps that he’s hitting behind fellow Top 100 prospects Charles Davalan (LAD No. 6, MLB No. 81) and Eduardo Quintero (LAD No. 3, MLB No. 19) in the lineup. The trio combined for seven hits in a win Wednesday night.
