Soccer match breaks out at MLB game

TORONTO -- Maybe once his baseball days are over, Eugenio Suárez can find a gig playing soccer. He sure looked like he could play the part during a third-inning at-bat against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

After fouling off a splitter from Kevin Gausman, Suárez stumbled out of the batter’s box and juggled the baseball for three kicks with his right foot, punctuated by one final one with his left that he directed to the dugout.

Alas, Suárez wasn’t able to channel the sequence into good luck at the dish, flying out to right field to end the inning.

The fancy footwork by Suárez also called to mind the classic Paul O'Neill kick, although that one of course happened while a ball was in play.
