Arias continues Triple-A tear with 3 hits and a homer

There’s no slowing down Franklin Arias.

The top Red Sox prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 7 overall, Arias slugged his 22nd homer of the year on Wednesday amid three hits, helping Triple-A Worcester to a 10-1 win over Lehigh Valley at Polar Park.

Arias’s yardwork came in the third inning. In a right-on-right matchup, the 20-year old infielder handled an inside fastball and crushed it 107.8 mph over the wall in center field. It gave Worcester a 2-0 lead from which it never looked back.

Arias also laced a 99.6 mph single in the first inning and a 105.4 mph single in the eighth. He additionally recorded an RBI on a hit-by-pitch in the fifth.

Arias went 3-for-4 in total with the trio of RBIs, while his 22nd long ball maintained his lead over all Red Sox Minor Leaguers. The fast-rising slugger’s first nine games in Triple-A have gone swimmingly. He’s slashing .333/.400/.615 in the sample to go alongside three home runs and 10 RBIs. That includes a hit in seven straight games.
