Gavin Stone’s long road back to the Majors is making progress.

Stone, who last pitched in the Majors on Aug. 31, 2024, before undergoing right shoulder surgery that October, made his third rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday. The right-hander tossed three perfect innings, struck out five batters and threw 30 of 38 pitches for strikes.

Stone began his rehab assignment with the Comets on Aug. 6 and is expected to take up to the maximum 30 days before a return to the Majors. Stone, who logged 140 1/3 innings with a 3.53 ERA for Los Angeles in 2024, missed the entire 2025 season due to his surgery. He was expected to return sometime earlier this season, but shoulder inflammation has delayed his return.

While Stone excelled as a starter in ‘24, any role he’d take with the Dodgers this season would certainly come in the bullpen. That might be the best route for Stone anyway as the Dodgers try to slowly transition the 27-year-old back to MLB action.
