Moore's RBI single ignites Giants' rally

SAN FRANCISCO -- This time, the Giants got their pitcher in on the offensive act.
Left-hander Matt Moore's RBI single to right field off Cubs starter John Lackey broke a tie in the fourth inning of National League Division Series Game 4 on Tuesday night at AT&T Park, a game the Cubs went on to win, 6-5.
It was Moore's first postseason RBI and just the second of his Major League career. The first came on June 9, 2012, on a bunt groundout off then-Marlins starter Carlos Zambrano.

The bottom of the Giants' lineup rallied to load the bases with one out against Lackey. Conor Gillaspie and Joe Panik stayed hot, both hitting sharp singles to right field, and Grégor Blanco walked. Up came Moore, with all of 44 career plate appearances and three hits to his name.
Moore fell behind, 0-2, then laced a ground-ball single to right, bringing home Gillaspie. Denard Span followed Moore with a ground ball to first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who threw to shortstop Addison Russell to force out Moore at second. But Lackey slipped as he covered first base, allowing Span to reach safely and Panik to score as the Giants took a 3-1 lead.
Cubs pitchers had stolen the show at the plate in the first three games of the series. Travis Wood homered and Kyle Hendricks hit a two-run single in Game 2, and Jake Arrieta went deep off Madison Bumgarner in Game 3.
