Giants No. 7 prospect makes immediate impact upon return from injury

After missing some time, Dakota Jordan didn't waste much time in his return to the lineup for Double-A Richmond.
The Giants' No. 7 prospect played in his first game of August on Saturday and bashed his 19th homer of the year in the Flying Squirrels' 14-3 loss to Portland at CarMax Park.
The dinger was Jordan's first in 10 games at Double-A. Shortly after he was promoted from High-A Eugene in July, he went on the injured list for a month.
The fourth-round Draft pick from 2024 still ranks fourth among Giants prospects in homers, and his .525 slugging percentage ranks third in the system among qualified hitters. He has also stolen 20 bases with his 70-grade speed.
The toolsy outfielder earned a nod to this year's Futures Game after a fantastic start to the season with High-A. Overall, he is batting .289 with an .870 OPS through 397 plate appearances.
While his power and speed are very real, Jordan's ability to make consistent contact will bear watching as he advances through the Minors. He struck out in each of his other three at-bats Saturday and has 108 K's across two levels this year, leaving him with a 27.2% strikeout rate.
For context, the average strikeout rate in the Majors this season is 22.2%.
