TORONTO -- Guardians catching prospect Cooper Ingle has enjoyed a dynamic start to the 2026 season with Triple-A Columbus, but his red-hot run has been placed on hold.
Ingle (who's ranked as the Guardians’ No. 5 prospect and No. 87 overall by MLB Pipeline) landed on the 7-day Minor League injured list on Friday with right hip inflammation. The issue appeared to crop up on Wednesday, when the 24-year-old exited in the third inning of Columbus’ 5-3 loss to Buffalo at Sahlen Field.
Ingle hit a single and advanced to second moments later on a Dom Nuñez walk. He was lifted for pinch-runner Kody Huff immediately afterward.
Ingle came out of the gates strong with the Clippers this season. He’s reached base safely in each of his 15 games while slashing .394/.630/.788 with four home runs and 16 RBIs, with 20 walks and just nine strikeouts.

Ingle was a non-roster invitee in big league Spring Training this year and made a good impression before being reassigned to Minor League camp on March 15. While the Guardians have a crowded catcher’s room with Bo Naylor, Austin Hedges and David Fry, Ingle’s bat could put him on the radar for a possible big league callup this season.
First, he’ll look to get back into Columbus’ lineup.
