Dodgers attempt to acquire Jimmy Kimmel's sidekick

The Los Angeles Dodgers own the best record and run differential in the National League. They also have one of MLB’s most talented rosters, which includes the four players selected to Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Dodger Stadium.

But this is the time of year when every contender is considering all possibilities to improve their championship odds.

And maybe the Dodgers have found their secret weapon in … Guillermo Rodriguez?

The longtime sidekick on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” showcased his skills in front of Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and third baseman Justin Turner recently. And, well, it was a true comedy of errors.

Guillermo’s pitches topped out at 34 mph. Roberts called him “one of the most unathletic people that I’ve ever seen.” And don’t even think about asking what beverage is stored inside his glove.

But ultimately, this all has a happy ending for Guillermo, who will participate in the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game this weekend. The game, which will be produced by MLB Network, will stream live on YouTube, Peacock, Pluto TV, Bleacher Report and across MLB’s social platforms. MLB Network will air the game on Monday at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
