Sanchez, Hedges, Renfroe homer for Triple-A El Paso

First baseman Héctor Sánchez hit two home runs and catcher Austin Hedges and right fielder Hunter Renfroe also homered Monday night as Triple-A El Paso defeated Memphis, 11-5, in the West Texas city.
Elsewhere, right-hander Chris Huffman allowed one earned run over five inning as Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore, the hottest team in the Padres' system at the moment, scored a 4-2 California League win at Inland Empire.
Chris Paddack, the right-hander acquired from Miami in the Fernando Rodney trade, lowered his ERA to 0.64 for Class A Fort Wayne as he struck out nine while allowing three hits and two walks over five shutout innings.
And right-hander Lake Bachar, the Padres' fifth-round pick in the 2016 Draft, allowed three hits and no walks with two strikeouts in three scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 1.62 for the Rookie-level AZL Padres.
Sanchez, who is hitting .422 for the Chihuahuas, was 3-for-3 with two solo homers for 55-40 El Paso.
Hedges (.377) was 3-for-5 with a double, his 17th homer and three RBIs. Renfroe (.338) was 2-for-5 with his Pacific Coast League-leading 23rd home run and two RBIs. Second baseman Carlos Asuaje (.329) was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Shortstop Nick Noonan (.320) was 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Left-hander Frank Garces (4-3, 4.15 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Right-hander Eric Yardley (4.91) struck out the only hitter he faced. Right-hander Brandon Morrow (8.25) allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout in an inning. Left-hander Brian Baumann (1.42) allowed a run on a hit and a walk with four strikeouts in two innings.
There was more movement in the Padres' system Monday.
Right-handed starter Bryan Rodriguez was placed on the seven-day disabled list with El Paso and right-hander Aaron Northcraft was promoted from Double-A San Antonio to fill the void in the Chihuahuas' rotation. Right-handed starter Walker Lockett was promoted to San Antonio from Lake Elsinore.
Right-handed relievers David Bednar and Aaron Cressley were promoted from Class A Short-Season Tri-City to Class A Fort Wayne, while right-handed reliever Nick Monroe and left-handed reliever Nathan Foriest were transferred from Fort Wayne to Tri-City.

HIGH CLASS A LAKE ELSINORE (16-9, 48-47) -- STORM 4, INLAND EMPIRE 2: Huffman (8-3, 3.01 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings as the Storm won its ninth straight game to move into a tie for the second-half lead of the South Division. RHP Martires Arias (4.50) allowed a hit and a walk with a strikeout in a scoreless inning. RHP Mark Zimmerman struck out one in a scoreless inning in his Storm debut. RHP Gerardo Reyes (0.00) walked two in a hitless/scoreless inning. RHP Phil Maton (0.93) allowed two hits with a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get his fifth save.
CLASS A FORT WAYNE (9-16, 45-50) -- CEDAR RAPIDS 3, TIN CAPS 2 (10 innings): 1B Brad Zunica (.258) was 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. SS Ruddy Giron (.204) had a RBI double in four at-bats. LHP José Castillo (3.38) followed Paddack and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings. Bednar (0-1, 3.86) allowed a run on four hits with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Cressley (0.00) allowed a hit with a strikeout in two-thirds of a scoreless inning.
CLASS A SHORT-SEASON TRI-CITY (15-16) -- EVERETT 9, DUST DEVILS 5: 3B Boomer White (.256) was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a RBI and two runs scored. SS Chris Baker (.297) was 3-for-5 with his second homer and two runs scored. Starting RHP Braxton Lorenzini (9.87 ERA) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings. RHP Daniel Erb (0-1, 1.69) allowed three unearned runs on three hits and a walk with a strikeout in three innings. RHP Dominic DiSabatino followed Bachar and allowed three runs on three hits with a strikeout in one-third inning to take the loss in his professional debut. RHP Adrian DeHorta (0.00) allowed a hit and a walk with a strikeout in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. RHP Jim McDade (1.84) struck out one in two perfect innings. RHP Kyle Gauthier (3.86) allowed a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
