Ryu coming off DL to start Thursday

LOS ANGELES -- Hyun Jin Ryu will come off the disabled list to start Thursday night's series opener in Denver against the Rockies, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced on Tuesday night.
Thursday is the first day Ryu is eligible to come off the 10-day DL, where he was placed because of what the club listed as a left hip contusion suffered sliding into second base in his most recent and effective start on April 30, when he allowed one run on three hits and struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings against Philadelphia.
Ryu had made only one start in the last two years while enduring shoulder and elbow operations. He is 1-4 with a 4.05 ERA in five starts. Although he has struck out 29 in 26 2/3 innings, he's been victimized by six home runs.
Roberts said Clayton Kershaw, who pitched 7 1/3 innings on Saturday night in San Diego, would pitch Friday night against the Rockies on one extra day of rest, courtesy of Sunday's rainout.
Roberts declined to name starters for Saturday and Sunday. The current rotation is lined up for Alex Wood and Julio Urías on regular rest.
Rich Hill, on the DL with chronic finger blisters, is expected to pitch a rehab start for Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga in Fresno Wednesday night. In a best-case scenario, he could pitch Monday night in San Francisco.
Brandon McCarthy, placed on the DL Monday with a dislocated left (non-throwing) shoulder suffered lifting weights last Wednesday, is eligible to return Monday and Roberts previously said McCarthy would return to the rotation during the three-game road series against the Giants.
In other injury updates, Roberts said he did not expect second baseman Logan Forsythe (broken toe) to return from the DL during next week's trip and said first baseman Adrián González is on a "slow program" in his DL recovery from elbow and back issues with no timetable for his return.
