Ryu gets it done on mound, at plate vs. Giants

SAN FRANCISCO -- Hyun Jin Ryu struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings and doubled in two runs in Friday night's 6-4 loss to the Giants as the Dodgers opened their longest trip.
Ryu left after taking a Buster Posey comebacker off the leg, but manager Dave Roberts said Ryu was fine and the removal was his baseball decision because the upcoming batter, Evan Longoria, homered off Ryu earlier in the game.
Josh Fields was already warmed up in the bullpen and replaced Ryu, who had made 89 pitches.

Ryu left with a 4-2 lead, putting him in position to improve his staff-leading record to 4-0, but the Giants surged ahead off the Dodgers' bullpen in the seventh. Ryu had allowed only one home run in his previous 23 2/3 innings, then in the bottom of the second inning he served up a pair to Longoria and Brandon Crawford.
The Dodgers offense answered with RBI doubles by Yasmani Grandal, Yasiel Puig and Ryu, whose two-run hit ended a nine-pitch at-bat and chased Giants starter Derek Holland.
