Red Sox activate IKF, call up Jedixson Paez as rosters expand

The Boston Red Sox on Tuesday announced the following roster moves:
Selected right-handed pitcher Jedixson Paezto the Major League roster from Triple-A Worcester. He will start tonight’s game against the Seattle Mariners.
Reinstated infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the 60-Day Injured List.
Recalled left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rivera from Triple-A Worcester and placed him on the 60-Day Injured List with a lumbar strain.
Designated infielder Brett Harris for assignment.
Paez, 22, has posted a 4.11 ERA (28 ER/61.1 IP) with 74 strikeouts in 20 games (10 starts) between Double-A Portland (17 games, seven starts) and Triple-A Worcester (three starts) this season. The right-hander was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2025 Rule-5 Draft and made three relief appearances for the White Sox this year, his Major League debut, allowing six runs over 3.0 innings. He was designated for assignment by Chicago on April 1 and returned to the Red Sox on April 4. Signed by Boston as an international free agent in January 2021, the Venezuela native owns a 3.37 ERA (138 ER/369.0 IP) with a 1.06 WHIP and 381 strikeouts in 93 career minor league games (68 starts).

Kiner-Falefa, 31, was placed on the Injured List on June 20 (retroactive to June 19) with left forearm inflammation. The right-handed hitter played in nine rehab games with Triple-A Worcester, batting .241 (7-for-29) with a double, three RBI, six walks, and three stolen bases, while making four starts at second base, three at shortstop, one at third base and one as the designated hitter. He has played in 47 games this season for Boston, batting .277 (33-for-119), with 19 runs scored and 13 RBI while making 21 starts at second base, nine at shortstop, and five at third base. Originally selected by the Texas Rangers in the fourth round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, the Hawaii native has hit .263 (848-for-3,228) with 38 home runs and 299 RBI in 967 career Major League games with the Rangers (2018-21), New York Yankees (2022-23), Toronto Blue Jays (2024-25), Pittsburgh Pirates (2024-25), and Red Sox (2026).
Rivera, 23, has made four appearances (three starts) for Boston this season, his Major League debut, allowing seven earned runs over 10.0 innings with 10 strikeouts. The left-hander has also gone 7-2 with a 2.59 ERA (16 ER/55.2 IP) and 71 strikeouts in 26 minor league games (five starts) this season between Triple-A Worcester (24 games, three starts) and Double-A Portland (two starts). Originally selected by the Athletics in the 11th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Puerto Rico native was signed by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent in June 2024 and owns a 3.56 ERA (106 ER/267.2 IP) with 326 strikeouts in 89 career minor league games (43 starts).
Harris, 28, was acquired in a trade with the Athletics on July 1 and played in one game for Boston on July 9 at the Chicago White Sox, starting at first base. The right-handed hitter has also played in five Major League games this year for the Athletics, making one start at third base. He has hit .293 (76-for-259) with 47 runs scored, 17 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 53 RBI, 41 walks, and an .864 OPS in 71 Triple-A games between Las Vegas (37 games) and Worcester (34 games). Originally selected by the Athletics in the seventh round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Illinois native has batted .192 (35-for-182) with three home runs and 17 RBI in 74 career Major League games with the Athletics (2024-26) and Red Sox (2026).
