Crawford (hand) ready to rejoin Phillies

PHOENIX -- The Phillies' bench could become a little deeper as early as Wednesday.
Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said infielder J.P. Crawford could rejoin the team Wednesday, depending on what happens in Tuesday night's game against the D-backs at Chase Field. Crawford has been on the 10-day disabled list since June 20 because of a broken left hand. He played his seventh rehab game Tuesday with Class A Advanced Clearwater.
The Phillies played Tuesday night with a three-man bench following Monday's 14-inning, 3-2 loss. They recalled right-hander Enyel De Los Santos from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and optioned outfielder Dylan Cozens to give them a fresh arm, if needed.
"We could also push it beyond the off-day and see where we stand at that point," Kapler said about Crawford's return.
Crawford had worked into a regular role at third base before his injury. But Maikel Franco has hit .336 with eight doubles, nine home runs, 21 RBIs and a .972 OPS since June 23. He is expected to remain in the lineup. Recently acquired infielder Asdrúbal Cabrera is likely to continue to play regularly at shortstop, too.
Extra bases
The Rangers claimed left-hander Zac Curtis off waivers. He had been designated for assignment last week to make room for left-hander Aaron Loup.
