Brewers slugger Jake Bauers sustained a fractured right big toe from a foul ball in Monday night's 3-0 loss to the Giants. He is receiving a follow-up MRI/CT to determine a timeline for return.
Bauers fouled a 3-2 pitch off his right foot in the fifth inning in San Francisco. He grounded out to first base on the next pitch, trotting gingerly down the line. He was eventually replaced by Luis Lara in right field in the seventh inning.
Bauers, a seven-year veteran in his third season with Milwaukee, leads the Brewers with 18 homers and is second on the club with 60 RBIs. He's slashing .265/.370/.486 with an .856 OPS in 97 games.
