Dyson's MRI reveals no structural damage

DENVER -- D-backs outfielder Jarrod Dyson had the MRI of his lower core read by specialist Dr. Bill Meyers, and manager Torey Lovullo said the diagnosis was that there was scar tissue in that area.
Dyson, who missed a good portion of last year due to a lower core injury that required surgery, was forced to leave the July 4 game against the Cardinals after experiencing pain in his right groin/lower core area.
"He said there was some scar tissue in there and they gave him an injection to break that up to give him a little bit of relief," Lovullo said. "He's going to have some downtime. Once we get back from the [All-Star] Break, we'll look to ramp him up and get him back on the field. For right now, rest is the most important thing for him."
The MRI, according to Lovullo, did not show any structural damage in the surgically repaired area.
"It's just that there's some scar tissue that is causing that irritation," Lovullo said.
