Báez doubles three times in Triple-A rehab appearance

Javier Báez had a huge game for Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.
Báez, who is recovering from a right ankle sprain, went 3-for-4 with three doubles and played six innings at shortstop. Báez has been on the injured list since April 29 and there is no clear timetable on when he’ll return.
The 33-year-old Báez posted a .677 OPS in 24 games with the Tigers before he suffered his injury. He had a .680 OPS with 12 home runs in 126 games with Detroit last season.
Max Clark, the Tigers’ top prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 13 overall prospect, also had a big game for the Mud Hens, hitting his 10th home run of the season.
