SEATTLE -- Rangers left fielder Joey Gallo moved into a seven-way tie for the most home runs in the Major Leagues when he hit his 13th homer in the sixth inning of Tuesday night's 9-8 loss to the Mariners.
Gallo's home run came off of Mariners starter Mike Leake, a fly ball down the left-field line rather than one of his majestic blasts to right. It still moved him into a tie with six other players for most in the Majors: Ozzie Albies, Mookie Betts, Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, José Ramírez and Khris Davis.
The Rangers trailed, 6-3, going into the sixth before Gallo's one-out home run sparked a three-run rally that tied the game. It was Gallo's first home run since hitting two against the Red Sox on May 5.
