Royals slugger Jorge Soler was placed on the injured list on Tuesday, and utility man Matt Reynolds was selected from the club's alternate training site

Soler, the reigning American League home run champion with 48, has been dealing with oblique and mid-back soreness. The 28-year-old is hitting .235 with eight homers and 22 RBIs this season.

Reynolds, 29, was signed as a non-roster free agent in November and was added to the Royals’ 28- and 40-man roster, which now is full.
