Ramírez donates custom batting gloves to Cleveland RBI programs

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- José Ramírez plays the game of baseball with a ton of flair, so it’s only right that his on-field equipment matches his pizzazz. That’s the essence behind the can’t-miss batting gloves you’ll see on the Guardians’ third baseman’s hands this season.

Ramírez and Franklin Sports came together to customize a pair of CFX Pro batting gloves, which were made available to the public on Wednesday as a limited-edition release. Ramírez also will donate 75 pairs to kids within Cleveland’s RBI baseball and softball programs this year.

The gloves’ design includes eye-popping colors such as a light blue, pink, orange and yellow. It’s the first pair tied to Ramírez that Franklin has taken to market.

“I like choosing different colors,” Ramírez said through the Guardians. “I picked these various colors because I like having different, rare colors that grab attention.”

The color scheme is fitting for a player who constantly demands your attention on the field.

Franklin began to design the gloves during Spring Training last year, collaborating with Ramírez. He was a fan of them from the jump, and even began to wear them on the field toward the end of the 2025 season.

“[Ramírez] likes to be different,” said Drew Gundlach, Franklin Sports’ senior director of player and brand strategy. “He wants to wear gloves that are unique and rare and are unlike anything anybody else has. So taking that feedback from him, we worked up some designs that we were proud of, and we thought he would be proud to wear. And turns out, he loved them.”

Ramírez has been associated with Franklin his entire career, but this is the first custom pair tied to him that the company has taken to the market. Though they’re a limited-edition release, Franklin has a feature online allowing fans to design their own batting gloves just like their favorite players.

"We want to celebrate our best players, and José has been one for years," Gundlach said. "We wanted to put him at the top of the pedestal and make sure we started 2026 off with a bang. José is no better guy to do it with."
