ARLINGTON -- Rangers third baseman Josh Jung exited the club’s 10-0 win against the White Sox on Tuesday night in the fourth inning due to left calf tightness.

Jung singled in the bottom of the third inning, went first to third on a Brandon Nimmo single and then scored on a Jake Burger double. He said he first felt it running to first on the single.

Jung said he wanted to play through it and he thinks he can play in Wednesday's series finale against the White Sox. Manager Skip Schumaker didn’t see the point of pushing in-game.

“I think I'll be good tomorrow,” Jung reiterated. “We’re just waiting to see how it feels, that’s truly the biggest thing. I’ve popped both of them pretty good at some points, and this wasn’t like that. It was more of a precaution.”

Jung has been one of the Rangers’ best hitters this season, slashing .294/.361/.441 with an .802 OPS at the time of his exit from the game.

Jung has been on the injured list multiple times in his big league career for a number of injuries, but not at all since a short stint from March 29-April 5, 2025, when he was sidelined with neck spasms.

He did have one other calf injury, a strain in 2024 Spring Training that sidelined him until the final days of Cactus League play. But he never went on the injured list with that ailment and was ready for Opening Day.
