The Brewers are calling up right-hander Junior Guerra from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Wednesday's game vs. the Cardinals, manager Craig Counsell told reporters Tuesday. The club has not yet announced a corresponding move.
Guerra, the Brewers' 2017 Opening Day starter, allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings in his first start of '18 for the Sky Sox. The 33-year-old hurler went 9-3 with a 2.81 ERA in 20 starts in '16, but struggled last season, going 1-4 with a 5.12 ERA in 21 games (14 starts).
Guerra is set to oppose St. Louis right-hander Adam Wainwright, who allowed three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings on April 5 against the D-backs.
