Turner officially back with Dodgers on 4-year pact

The Dodgers have officially re-signed third baseman Justin Turner to a four-year contract. The deal is reportedly worth $64 million.
The 32-year-old hit .275/.339/.493 with 27 home runs and 90 RBIs for Los Angeles in 2016. In three seasons with the Dodgers, Turner hit .296/.364/.492 with a .345 average with runners in scoring position. He previously spent a season-plus with the Orioles and four with the Mets.

"I'm excited to return to the Dodgers for another four years," Turner, a native of Long Beach, Calif., said in a Dodgers statement. "Playing in Los Angeles has been special for me, and I want to continue to represent and give back to this community and bring our fans the championship they deserve."
Turner was also third among third basemen in the National League with seven defensive runs saved per Fangraphs.

"J.T. has been, and will continue to be, a vital part of the Dodgers on the field, in the clubhouse and in the community. His talent, work ethic, leadership and instincts for the game embodies a lot of what we look for in a Dodger player."
Turner's signing comes after Los Angeles reached an agremment with another key component in its run of four consecutive NL West titles, closer Kenley Jansen, on a five-year, $80 million deal.
