LOS ANGELES -- Third baseman Justin Turner missed Sunday's workout at Dodger Stadium after getting "banged up" in the National League Championship Series, said general manager Farhan Zaidi, who added that he's confident Turner will be ready to play when the World Series presented by YouTube TV starts on Tuesday.
"He's taking it easy," said Zaidi. "It's been a long season. J.T. is laying low, he's a little banged up, and we don't want him out here going through a full workout."

At a similar workout two days before the start of the NLCS presented by Camping World, shortstop Corey Seager was out of sight and he missed the entire series with a sprained lower back. Zaidi said Turner's situation is not comparable and is more like a maintenance game off Turner would be given during the season to rest his chronically inflamed knees.
Asked if he was concerned that Turner might miss the World Series, Zaidi said, "No."
Turner won Game 2 of the NLCS with a three-run walkoff homer and shared NLCS Most Valuable Player honors with teammate Chris Taylor. Turner was 6-for-18 with two homers and seven RBIs and a 1.147 OPS against the Cubs. Turner has become the team's Mr. October, with a .368 career postseason average, 1.113 OPS and 24 RBIs in 26 games.

Kiké Hernández and Kyle Farmer took ground balls at third during the workout.
Also missing Sunday's workout, as he did the one before the NLCS, was catcher Yasmani Grandal, who again was home in Arizona with his expectant wife.
