Marte (illness) scratched from D-backs lineup for opener vs. Mets

PHOENIX -- Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte was scratched from the lineup just before Friday night's game against the Mets due to illness.

Marte had been scheduled to hit second and play second base until falling ill. The team didn't specify the illness.

To replace Marte, Ildemaro Vargas was moved from first base to second base and up in the order to second. Rookie Jose Fernandez was added to the lineup playing first base and batting eighth.
