Kingery looking to homer in third straight

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch:Scott Kingery (Phillies' No. 11), Reading vs. Richmond (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Kingery homered for the second time in as many games on Wednesday, as his three-run homer accounted for all of Double-A Reading's runs in a loss against New Hampshire. The 2015 second-rounder has posted a .318/.429/.682 slash line to begin the season, and he's hit safely in five of his first six games for the Fightin Phils.

Pitcher to watch:Chance Adams (Yankees' No. 8), Trenton vs. Portland (7 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Adams, 22, tossed 5 2/3 hitless innings on April 8 to record the win in his season debut for Double-A Trenton. The right-hander did struggle with his control in the outing, issuing four walks while throwing 48 of his 85 pitches for strikes, but he also tallied five strikeouts and six ground-ball outs to help offset those free passes. In 2016, Adams went 13-1 and posted a 2.33 ERA with 144 strikeouts and a .169 batting average against in 127 1/3 innings (24 starts) between Class A Advanced Tampa and Trenton.

Duel of the day: Lucas Giolito (White Sox No. 2) vs. Taylor Guerrieri (Rays' No. 18), Charlotte at Durham (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Giolito, ranked ninth on MLBPipeline.com'sTop 100 Prospects list, scuffled in his Triple-A Charlotte debut, allowing four earned runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings against Norfolk. He'll have his work cut out for him on Thursday, going up against a talented Durham lineup that includes three Top 100 Prospects in Willy Adames (No. 19), Jake Bauers (No. 72) and Casey Gillaspie (No. 99).

Guerrieri, meanwhile, picked up the win in his Triple-A debut, surrendering three earned runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings against Gwinnett. The 24-year-old righty fanned seven in the outing, marking his highest strikeout total since July 04, 2016 as a member of Double-A Montgomery.
