PHILADELPHIA -- Kyle Schwarber was not in the Phillies' starting lineup on Monday after he woke up feeling "under the weather," according to interim manager Don Mattingly.

"We'll see where it goes through the course of the day if he's available [off the bench] to do anything," Mattingly said prior to the series opener against the Reds at Citizens Bank Park.

It marked the first time that Schwarber was not in the starting lineup since Sept. 11, 2024, ending his streak of 225 consecutive starts. However, he could keep his streak of 225 straight games played intact if he pinch-hits on Monday.

Schwarber leads the Majors with 20 home runs this season, including hitting nine homers in his past 10 games.

Meanwhile, Bryce Harper -- the only other Phillie to play in every game so far this season -- took Schwarber's spot as the designated hitter against the Reds. With Schwarber out of the lineup, Mattingly moved Harper to DH with Alec Bohm sliding across the diamond to start at first base.

"It's hard to get [Harper] out of there -- you don't want to ever really get him out of there," Mattingly said. "So when we can take advantage and give him a DH day, knowing he's a guy that's out there grinding every day, we're going to try to do it."
