Webb cast? Giants ace launches new radio show

CINCINNATI -- Logan Webb is used to taking the ball every fifth day for the Giants. Now he’ll be taking the mic twice a month, as well.

Last week, Webb launched his new MLB Network Radio show on SiriusXM, which is fittingly called “Logan’s Webb.” The two-time All-Star is expected to host two shows per month throughout the 2026 regular season, giving him a platform to share his thoughts on the state of the game and pull back the curtain on life in the big leagues.

“My agents reached out to me and said there was an opportunity to do something with SiriusXM,” Webb said Tuesday. “I thought it’d be fun. I’ve done a couple [podcasts]. I did the Chris Rose [one] for a decent amount. I went on [Mookie Betts’] last year. I had a good time doing it. I just thought it was a good opportunity.

“It's cool that it's mine because I can invite my teammates and have my teammates on there and maybe some coaches. Maybe I’ll have [manager] Tony [Vitello] on there. [President of baseball operations] Buster [Posey] would never say yes to that, but [it’ll be] anyone I want, which will be cool.”

The first episode of “Logan’s Webb” premiered on Friday and featured a wide-ranging conversation between Webb and co-host Ryan Spilborghs, with the two discussing everything from Webb’s baseball roots in Northern California to the Giants’ clubhouse dynamic to early impressions of the new ABS challenge system.

Webb is working on brushing up his interviewing skills, but he expects future episodes to dive into the minds of current Giants teammates like Matt Chapman, Willy Adames and Robbie Ray.

“The first one was great,” Webb said. “We kind of just talked about all the stuff that people probably already know. But that's why I'm excited for the next couple ones. I already want Chappy and Willy, Robbie, a lot of those guys to come on and talk about experiences. Their experiences as hitters or in the field or different types of baseball like mindsets and stuff like that.”

Webb said he probably won’t ask opposing players to come on his show for now, but he’s eager to extend invites to Giants legends like Madison Bumgarner, who was his teammate when he first debuted in San Francisco in 2019.

“I’m going to try to get Bum on there,” Webb said. “No chance he says yes, but I’m going to try to get him on there. Any one of those guys, honestly -- Bum, [Matt Cain], [Tim Lincecum]. Or Hunter Pence would be a great one.”

Could Webb see a future for himself in podcasting or other forms of baseball media once his playing days are done?

“Maybe,” Webb said. “Hopefully that’s far down the road. My wife always seems to tell me that I could be pretty good at hosting one. I think it'd be fun. People get this conception that it's taking away from trying to do stuff, but we have so much time to do things and actually talk about sports and what we do. I think it's cool. I think it'll be cool, especially for Giants fans. I’m going to have all the Giants players on there. We’ll just talk about how our days go, what we do on our off-day. Stuff that I think fans will like.”
