Marlins push rotation back a day after rainout

PHILADELPHIA -- Tuesday's rainout will not prompt the Marlins to scramble their rotation. Wei-Yin Chen, initially set to start the series opener, will instead start on Wednesday and Edinson Vólquez will close out the series on Thursday.
The Marlins and Phillies were washed out on Tuesday, Miami's first rainout of the season. No makeup date has been set.
Weather conditions are expected to improve on Wednesday for the 7:05 p.m. ET contest at Citizens Bank Park.
Chen (2-0, 3.94) will get the nod against Vince Velasquez (0-2, 7.20) on Wednesday. The series concludes at 1:05 p.m. ET on Thursday with Volquez making the start for Miami.
With all the starters pushed back a day, left-hander Adam Conley goes from being scheduled to face the Phillies on Thursday to opening the homestand on Friday against the Pirates at Marlins Park.
The Marlins return to Philadelphia for three games from Aug. 22-24. Both teams are off Aug. 21, which creates the possibility of a four-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
