Mason Miller debuts crazy, Force-aided pitch ... with Grogu's help!
Mason Miller has been virtually untouchable as the Padres’ closer this year, meaning he doesn’t really need much outside help to generate better results. But even the owner of a 0.96 ERA and a 55.9% strikeout rate will take it when available, like when Grogu stops by Padres practice to whip up a new Force-aided pitch shape for Miller.
Grogu, in the midst of his press tour for the upcoming movie “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,” was sitting in the stands when Miller locked eyes with him and gave a nod of acknowledgement. Then, Grogu tapped into his powers to carry Miller’s pitch every which way -- up, down and around the batter -- before it crossed home plate and induced a swing and miss.
Grogu let out a cheer, and Miller gave the kid a fist bump and a message: “The Force was strong with that one!”
Tickets are on sale now to experience “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” only in theaters on May 22.
