Dodgers place Beaty on IL; recall Garlick
PHOENIX -- The Dodgers recalled outfielder Kyle Garlick from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday and placed infielder Matt Beaty on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 3, with a left hip flexor strain.
Garlick, 27, will join the team for the third time this season.
In his previous two stops with the Dodgers, Garlick went 0-for-3 in three games. In 43 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, he was batting .290 (42-for-145) with 12 homers and 33 RBIs. He was hitting .333 with two homers and 13 RBIs in his last eight games at Triple-A.
As for Beaty, he was batting .286 (12-for-42) with one double and seven RBIs in 17 games for the Dodgers. He made his Major League debut on April 30 against the San Francisco Giants and hit a single up the middle for his first hit in the Majors.
