SEATTLE -- The Rangers optioned right-hander Austin Bibens-Dirkx to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, activating left-hander Matt Moore off the disabled list.
Moore has been on the DL since May 19 with a sore right knee. He is starting on Wednesday night against the Mariners with a 1-5 record and a 7.99 ERA over nine starts and one relief appearance.
Bibens-Dirkx was 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA in two starts for the Rangers. He allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings on Tuesday night against the Mariners in a game the Rangers rallied to win, 9-5.
Bibens-Dirkx will go back into the Round Rock rotation and remains a leading candidate to be recalled in case there is a need in the Rangers' rotation. He is 2-3 with a 3.72 ERA in eight starts at Round Rock.
