Mets sign left-hander Purke to Minors deal

The Mets signed left-hander Matt Purke to a Minor League deal with an invitation to Major League Spring Training on Friday.
Purke last pitched in the Majors for the White Sox in 2016, going 0-1 with a 5.50 ERA in 12 games.

In 48 appearances with Triple-A Charlotte last season, Purke went 4-5 with a 3.84 ERA.
