Mets' Top 30 Prospects list gets full update after Deadline moves

NEW YORK -- The Mets’ farm system is in a clear state of flux. In one sense, it has been a good year for their prospects, with rookies Nolan McLean, Christian Scott, Zac Thornton, Carson Benge and A.J. Ewing in the Majors. From another angle, it’s been a difficult summer on the farm, with many younger prospects taking clear steps backward.
But this is a far different farm system than it was even in June. By adding a dozen prospects in the days leading up to the Trade Deadline, the Mets significantly improved their organizational depth. Nine of those new prospects now rank among the Mets’ Top 30.
MLB Pipeline recently rejiggered that Top 30 list to account not only for those prospects the Mets acquired in trades, but also their recent Draft picks. The updated list also accounts for performance fluctuations among prospects who have been in the system all along.
Here’s a look at the Mets’ top prospects:
- Jefferson Rojas, SS/3B (MLB No. 76)
- Jonathan Santucci, LHP
- Elian Peña, SS
- Mitch Voit, SS/2B
- Jonah Tong, RHP
Biggest jump/fall
Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the preseason list:
Jump: Santucci (Preseason: 10 | Midseason: 2) -- A second-round pick out of Duke in the 2024 Draft, Santucci was billed as the type of college starter who could advance quickly through the system. He’s done precisely that, reaching Triple-A Syracuse this season after striking out 120 batters over 90 2/3 innings at Double-A Binghamton. Given McLean’s graduation to the Majors and Tong’s season-long struggles, Santucci is now the organization’s top pitching prospect.
Fall: Antonio Jimenez, SS (Preseason: 17 | Midseason: Not rated) -- Jimenez jumped to the third round in the 2025 Draft in large part due to his power potential. But he hasn’t done much hitting at all as a professional, producing a .624 OPS through his first 125 Minor League games.
