Miami Marlins and Telemundo 51 Miami Announce First-of-Its-Kind Spanish-Language, Over-the-Air Simulcasts for 2026

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins and Telemundo 51 Miami today announced a first-of-its-kind agreement to simulcast two 2026 regular season games in Spanish over the air, marking the club's first local Spanish-language over-the-air television partnership. The broadcasts will also become the one of the first local Spanish-language MLB over-the-air simulcasts to feature a dedicated television broadcast team, with Jose Francisco Rivera of Telemundo/Peacock and ESPN alongside Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase on the call.

The initiative reinforces the Marlins’ commitment to accessibility and continued brand growth by connecting with both new and existing fans through Spanish-language platforms in one of the most vibrant and diverse baseball markets in the country. The broadcasts expand access for Spanish-speaking fans across the Marlins territory as part of the Marlins’ evolving local distribution strategy and commitment to reaching fans on widely available platforms.

The Telemundo 51 simulcasts will include Sunday, Aug. 9 vs. the Los Angeles Angels at 1:40 p.m. ET and Sunday, Sept. 27 vs. the Atlanta Braves at 3:10 p.m. ET, which marks the final game of the 2026 regular season. Both games will be played at loanDepot park.

“Baseball is deeply rooted in the Spanish-speaking community, and that is especially true here in South Florida,” said Caroline O’Connor, Miami Marlins President of Business. “Our partnership with Telemundo 51 Miami allows us to connect with Spanish-speaking fans in a more meaningful way through Spanish-language broadcasts while expanding access to Marlins baseball across the region.”

“Our viewers have a deep passion for baseball, and we are proud to make Marlins baseball available to Spanish-speaking fans on Telemundo 51 for the first time,” said Jorge Carballo, President and General Manager of Telemundo 51 and NBC6 / WTVJ. “This initiative underscores our shared commitment to serving South Florida’s vibrant Hispanic community.”

By continuing to expand free access points, the Marlins strengthen their connection with fans throughout Marlins territory while supporting key organizational priorities, including growing the brand, increasing reach and delivering a seamless fan experience.
