Marlins open 2027 campaign at loanDepot park with three-game series against National League East Division Rivals New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins will host the New York Mets at loanDepot park on Opening Day –
Thursday, March 25, as the full 2027 schedule was announced today by Major League Baseball.

Opening Day 2027 will mark Miami’s fifth-consecutive season beginning at home and the fourth time the Marlins will host their National League East Division rivals to begin the season, most recently in 2023. Overall, the Marlins and Mets have met on Opening Day five previous times, with two of those contests taking place in New York in 2010 and 2011.

The opening homestand, which has a built-in off-day on Friday, March 26, continues with the final two games of the series against the Mets on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, before the Philadelphia Phillies come to loanDepot park for a three-game set from March 29-31. Miami will then make its first trip west for a pair of three-game series at the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.

The 2027 season begins the fifth year since Major League Baseball implemented the balanced schedule, as the Marlins will host eight American League teams, highlighted by the New York Yankees from May 7-9 and also including home series against Houston (April 30-May 2), Detroit (May 24-26), Toronto (June 14-16), the Athletics (Aug. 3-5), Kansas City (Aug. 27-29), and Minnesota (Sept. 17-19).

The Marlins will host four holiday games at loanDepot park, beginning with Easter Sunday (March 28 vs. New York-NL), Mother’s Day (May 9 vs. New York-AL), Memorial Day (May 31 vs. Chicago-NL), and Independence Day (July 4 vs. Pittsburgh).

The 2027 Citrus Series against the Tampa Bay Rays will begin in Miami (July 16-18) and conclude in Tampa Bay (Sept. 10-12), while the Fightin’ Fish will also travel to the following AL cities: Baltimore (April 23-25), Chicago-AL (May 13-15), Boston (June 8-10), Seattle (June 21-23), Cleveland (July 26-28), Los Angeles-AL (Aug. 9-11), and Texas (Sept. 21-23).

The Marlins will close the 2027 regular season schedule on the road for the first time since 2024 with a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves (Sept. 24-26). It will represent the second consecutive season the division rivals meet in the final series of the year and the third straight season the Marlins will face an NL East opponent in the closing series.
