It’s a classic ballplayer’s dream: having your name announced over the PA system as part of the starting lineup.
But having your name announced by … Mickey Mouse? That probably wasn’t part of the equation. Until Saturday, anyway.
The Triple-A Reno Aces couldn’t bring Mickey himself to Greater Nevada Field on Saturday night for their game against Las Vegas, but they found the next best thing: Willie Brazil, a member of the team’s front office, who sounds JUST like the iconic Disney character.
It wasn’t the Aces’ only homage to Mickey, either: The club sold Disney Mickey & Friends merchandise, as well as special food items like “Hot Diggity Dogs” and the “Mouseketeer,” a bacon cheeseburger loaded with mac and cheese.
