ATLANTA -- Los Angeles Dodgers veteran infielder Miguel Rojas exited Tuesday night’s NLDS Game 3 against the Atlanta Braves in the top of the eighth inning due to low back pain, the team announced.

According to FOX Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal, Rojas sustained the injury on a defensive play to end the bottom of the fifth inning. With two runners on, Ronald Acuña Jr. grounded out to second base, where Rojas fielded the ball and threw to first to strand both runners and protect the Dodgers’ lead.

Rojas remained in the game defensively through the seventh inning before being lifted mid-at-bat in the top of the eighth after Shohei Ohtani led off with a walk. Following a brief delay on the field, utility man Tommy Edman entered as a pinch-hitter to complete the plate appearance. Edman replaced Rojas at second base in the bottom of the frame.

Before leaving the contest, Rojas was 0-for-3 on the night with a strikeout.
