These MiLB promos are set to celebrate girls and women in sports -- and beyond

Everybody watches women's sports. That's been established.

Included in "everybody" is a continent-spanning collective of Minor League Baseball players, fans and front office and gameday staff members. Every year more and more MiLB clubs devote a piece of their promo calendar -- highly valued space in this business -- to the celebration of women's involvement in every aspect of the sports industry, as well as in other influential and important sectors across society.

We present here a look at seven promos teams are using to celebrate and empower girls and women in sports and beyond. But remember: your local Minor League club very well might be planning such an event for 2026 even if it isn't listed here! Check out your team's promo schedule or call the box office and ask.

Norfolk Tides (Triple-A BAL)
Women Making Waves Day -- March 28
vs. Nashville Sounds (MIL)

On the second day of the Triple-A season, the Tides are bringing women together for a full afternoon of "connection, conversation and community," with a panel, round-table discussion, networking and more, all with the aim of celebrating professional growth and leadership opportunities for women. The event includes a ballpark tour and wraps up in time to see the O's Triple-A affiliate take on the Brewers' Triple-A Nashville squad.

South Bend Cubs (High-A CHC)
All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Day -- April 18
vs. Beloit Sky Carp (MIA)

The territory of today's Midwest League largely overlaps with the territory of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League of yore -- the WWII-era women's league enshrined in celluloid in "A League of Their Own." The Cubs' High-A affiliate plays in the city that was once home to the AAGPBL's South Bend Blue Sox -- and in April the club continues its tradition of paying homage to the Blue Sox, celebrating the trailblazers of the best as well as women in sports breaking barriers today.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (High-A SD)
Tribute to Fort Wayne Daisies - June 5
vs. Lake County Captains (CLE)

The TinCaps will strive to reach the high standard they've continually set with their annual tributes to their AAGPBL predecessors, as over the years they've suited up as the Daisies, made numerous living former AAGPBL players and family members of former players a part of the celebration, and even worked with the city to get a monument to the Daisies installed in a public park.

Harrisburg Senators (Double-A WSH)
Women in Sports Summit -- June 20
vs. Erie SeaWolves (DET)

Last year, the Senators started a new tradition with an all-afternoon event that included multiple panels (with, among other highly accomplished women, Washington Nationals senior manager of game presentation Katie O'Rourke) networking time and more. The second iteration of the now annual event is scheduled for June 20, promising another impressive panel with a diversity of experiences being shared by women across the sports industry -- likely from athletes to behind-the-scenes problem solvers to high-profile leaders. Details will follow, and you can fill out the Sens' interest form to ensure you're among the first to know when tickets go on sale.

Vancouver Canadians (High-A TOR)
Women in Sports Night -- July 2
vs. Eugene Emeralds (SF)

In addition to the in-park celebration, the Canadians' 2026 Women in Sports Night will have a tangible, real-world impact on girls and women in sports. They've partnered with Baseball BC to raise money to support girls baseball programming all over British Columbia. The team is also planning on getting a representative from the new Women's Professional Baseball League involved. Last year's event featured a first pitch from beloved Canadian sportscaster Hazel Mae.

Chesapeake Baysox (Double-A BAL)
Women in Sports Night -- July 17
vs. Hartford Yard Goats (COL)

The Baysox are using their Women in Sports Night to make a real difference in local women's lives, as the team is using the occasion to host a clothing drive to collect women's office/professional attire. That community-mindedness is in keeping with how the club handled an incident that become one of the greatest stories of the 2025 MiLB season -- when their Oyster Catchers alternate identity got an unexpected (and enormous) response, the Orioles' affiliate used the Oyster Catchers initiative to join the fight against cervical cancer. In 2026, the team will again take the field as the Oyster Catchers on select Fridays -- including this one.

Portland Sea Dogs (Double-A BOS)
Women in Sports Night -- Aug. 21
vs. Reading Fightin Phils (PHI)

Most bobbleheads can only respond to inquiries in the affirmative, and silently. The one the Sea Dogs are giving out on Aug. 21 can speak -- it is the bobblehead of their broadcaster, Emma Tiedemann, and it features one of Tiedemann's historic radio calls. She called play-by-play during Boston's all-female broadcast last summer and, with then-broadcast partner Rylee Pay (now the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers' broadcaster), excelled during a Red Sox callup in 2024, too.
