This Minor League promo won over influencers -- and it hasn't even happened yet

A youth movement is sweeping through Minor League Baseball -- and we don't mean teenage prospects.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos attracted much attention with the announcement of a theme night sure to engage with, and perhaps lovingly mock, the team's Gen Z followers.

Brainrot Night, which the Blue Wahoos is dedicated to "all the things that you see scrolling your phone when you should be reading a book, talking to your family, or touching grass," is scheduled for June 7 -- aka 6/7 -- but the event has already blown up on the internet whence it came.

The Double-A affiliate of the Marlins released a playful X post about the promo on Feb. 19, and that very day Jomboy's Sarah Wilson (@swillysports) responded with a video praising Brainrot Night as "everything that Minor League Baseball is, wrapped up into one.

"The fact that this is a real promotion? Snaps to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. I want to shake your hand."

At last count, that video had garnered over 277,000 plays on TikTok and more than 32,000 likes on Instagram. TikTok posts by other users have also generated thousands of views.

The Blue Wahoos' full description of the promotion (tickets here) reads as follows.

Six-seeeeven. Leave your brain at the door, and pay your Fanum tax. It's Brainrot Night at Blue Wahoos Stadium! We'll be celebrating all the things that you see scrolling your phone when you should be reading a book, talking to your family, or touching grass. Skibidi on down to the ballpark, rizz up your moots like you're Baby Gronk, and get ready for a night of baseballmaxxing. | Presented By AI Slop

Of course, the spirit of Minor League Baseball being as it is, Pensacola is far from the only team with a six seeeeven-inspired theme night scheduled for 6/7. These clubs all have a notable June 6 promo along the same lines:

And that list is non-exhaustive! To ensure your opportunity to baseballmaxx on 6/7, check your local team's promo schedule.
