All-Star softball tilt chock full of celebrities

Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Super Bowl champion quarterback Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch and Hall of Famers Andre Dawson and Rickey Henderson were among the participants announced on Tuesday by Major League Baseball for the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego.
Roster additions will also include three-time All-Star pitcher and former Padre David Wells; Andy Cohen, Emmy Award-winning host, producer and author best known as the host and executive producer of "Watch What Happens Live," Bravo's late-night interactive talk show; Mark Consuelo, actor, producer and star of this fall's Fox series "Pitch;" model Damaris Lewis; and Tim Foreman, bass player and co-founder of Grammy Award-winning rock band Switchfoot.
Also coming will be Kyle Mooney, man-on-the-street interviewer and "Saturday Night Live" cast member; Peyton Meyer, star of Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World"; Cameron Boyce, actor in Disney Channel's "Jessie and Descendants" and Disney XD's "Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything"; Omar Miller, star in HBO's "Ballers" and upcoming thriller "Above Suspicion," plus host of sports podcast O-Zone; Karan Brar, actor in Disney Channel's "Jessie and Bunk'ed" and NBC's "The Night Shift."

More players: Morris Chestnut, TV and movie actor, currently starring in FOX's hit show "Rosewood"; former Padres outfielder and current MLB vice president of social responsibility and inclusion Billy Bean; MLB ambassador for inclusion Curtis Pride, who was the first deaf player in MLB; Terry Crews, star of FOX's "Brooklyn Ninety-Nine"; Raini Rodriguez, multitalented actor, singer and director "Trish" of Disney's "Austin & Ally"; and Rico Rodriguez, from the Emmy-award-winning show "Modern Family."
Dawson and Henderson will join fellow Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Rollie Fingers, as well as two strong candidates for the next Hall ballot, Tim Raines and local legend Trevor Hoffman.
Additionally, Wounded Warrior Softball Team players Sgt. Martin Diaz and Sgt. Chris Gary will join the rosters.
Previously announced participants include Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons; swimsuit model Nina Agdal, the first female MLB ambassador for New Era Cap; "Fall Out Boy" bassist Pete Wentz; U.S. soccer legend Landon Donovan; actor Tyler Hoechlin, a former Arizona State infielder better known as one of the stars of Richard Linklater's critically acclaimed film "Everybody Wants Some" and the 2017 sequel to "Fifty Shades of Grey"; Mark-Paul Gosselaar, star of "Pitch"; and Sterling K. Brown, a star of "The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" and NBC's highly anticipated fall dramedy "This Is Us."
The softball game will be televised by ESPN immediately following the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
The All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game is the second game of a doubleheader at Petco Park on All-Star Sunday. Preceding the softball game will be the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game featuring the top Minor League prospects competing in a nine-inning contest, live on MLB.com, MLB Network and SiriusXM at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET.
The 87th All-Star Game, in San Diego, will be televised nationally by FOX, in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS, and worldwide by partners in more than 160 countries via MLB International's independent feed.
