MLB Network to exclusively televise two League Division Series games

With the 2017 MLB Postseason underway, MLB Network today announced the matchups and start times for its two exclusive game telecasts of the American League Division Series presented by Doosan, marking the sixth consecutive year that MLB Network will exclusively televise two Division Series games.
MLB Network will exclusively televise Game 1 of the ALDS featuring the Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros with Bob Costas, Jim Kaat and Jon Paul Morosi on the call this Thursday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET, live from Minute Maid Park. Matt Vasgersian, Hall of Famer John Smoltz and Tom Verducci will be on the game call for MLB Network's exclusive telecast of Game 2 of the ALDS between the Cleveland Indians and the AL Wild Card winner on Friday, October 6 at 5:00 p.m. ET, live from Progressive Field. Both games will be available nationwide and in each club's home TV territory exclusively on MLB Network. MLB Network's two game telecasts will be presented by Geico.
To make its ALDS game telecasts available to even more viewers, MLB Network has partnered with several of its distributors to expand their existing carriage of MLB Network by providing a free preview to video customers of AT&T U-Verse, Armstrong, Cablevision (Optimum), Comcast (XFINITY), Cox, DISH, DIRECTV, DIRECTV Now, Fidelity, Frontier, Grande, GVTC, Mid-Hudson Cable, Norwood Light Broadband, RCN and Verizon FiOS from October 4-11. MLB Network's Postseason games are also available anywhere in the United States via an authenticated live stream to customers of participating pay TV providers through MLB.com At Bat, MLBNetwork.com/Watch and MLB.TV.
In each telecast, MLB Network will provide continuous game coverage during pitching changes and select mound visits by using a split-screen format in commercial breaks, as it has done previously on MLB Network Showcase. MLB Network also will use Pitchcast tracking as part of its use of Statcast™ powered by AWS, MLB Advanced Media's revolutionary tracking technology. MLB Network's ALDS game telecasts will also feature enhanced audio at each base, plus Phantom and Slo-Mo camera technology to provide dramatically increased resolution and clarity to replays.
MLB Network will air more than 175 hours of live coverage throughout the 2017 Postseason, including game previews, highlights, analysis, interviews and press conferences across all studio programming. MLB Tonight presented by Evan Williams Bourbon will air before and after every Postseason game with reporters including Scott Braun, Fran Charles, Robert Flores, Peter Gammons, Jon Paul Morosi, Ken Rosenthal, Tom Verducci and Heidi Watney on-site at each ballpark. MLB Network's daily Postseason programming schedule, including High Heat with Christopher Russo presented by Liberty Mutual, The Rundown, MLB Now presented by Fisher Investments, Intentional Talk and MLB Tonight, is available here.
Exclusive performance footage of the song "Rock the World" by multiplatinum-selling band The Script will be featured in all studio programming on MLB Network throughout the 2017 MLB Postseason.
MLB Network's award-winning social media campaign #WeKnowPostseason returns for the third time this Postseason, including interviews with MLB Network analysts looking back at famous Postseason moments and reliving some of their own accomplishments. Jim Thome talks about his first World Series appearance in 1995 with the Cleveland Indians, while he and Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez discuss Pedro's no-hit relief performance during Game 5 of the 1999 ALDS to help the Boston Red Sox advance to the ALCS against the New York Yankees. The campaign will also look back at the key plays that led to some of the most notable moments in Postseason history, including how the St. Louis Cardinals came back from a deficit five times before David Freese hit his now-iconic walkoff home run in Game 6 of the 2011 World Series to force Game 7 against the Texas Rangers. #WeKnowPostseason content will live across MLB Network's platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
