Murakami keeps it '100!' while celebrating 1st MLB playoff clinch

Munetaka Murakami is fitting right in with the White Sox.
After his club clinched a postseason berth on Thursday with a 9-1 win over the Royals, the rookie first baseman from Kumamoto, Japan, delivered an electric postgame interview on the Chicago Sports Network.
Interpreter Kenzo Yagi relayed the questions to Murakami in Japanese, but the 26-year-old was more than willing to answer CHSN reporter Brooke Fletcher in English. Asked to rate his first MLB clubhouse celebration on a scale from one to 10, Murakami had a ready response.
“One hundred!” he declared. “No[t] 10 -- 100!”
The same answer worked just fine when Murakami was asked how many champagne bottles he’d opened during Chicago’s locker-room party.
“Hundred!” he happily replied.

The last answer he gave might not have fit the question, but it was a funny moment during a jubilant day for the White Sox, who are still battling the Guardians for the American League Central title. Fletcher asked Murakami what it meant to him to be able to celebrate Thursday’s clinch with his Chicago teammates, and his response did not disappoint.
“I AM JAPANESE!” Murakami shouted while teammates doused him in beer.
