Every player in the Nats Ring of Honor

Nationals Park celebrates more than just the baseball that has been played in Washington since the team’s relocation in 2005. Inside the stadium, the Ring of Honor pays tribute to some of the most elite players and managers who had distinct historical ties to the Nats, Washington Senators, Homestead Grays or Montreal Expos.

The display of names, unveiled on Aug. 10, 2010, is seen behind home plate to the right field facade. To establish the initial criteria for the Ring of Honor, the Nats worked with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. This included Hall of Fame election, experience playing for or managing one of the four teams and -- for players -- significant tenure. Six years later, the Nationals expanded the guidelines to encompass those who made significant contributions to D.C. baseball.

There currently are 23 players inducted into the Ring of Honor at Nats Park:

James “Cool Papa” Bell: Grays outfielder -- 1932, ‘43-46

Ray Brown: Grays pitcher -- 1932-45, ‘47-48

Gary Carter: Expos catcher -- 1974-84, ‘92

Joe Cronin: Senators shortstop -- 1928-34

Andre Dawson: Expos outfielder -- 1976-86

Rick Ferrell: Senators catcher -- 1937-41, ‘44-45, ‘47

Josh Gibson: Grays catcher -- 1937-46

Goose Goslin: Senators outfielder -- 1921-30, ‘33, ‘38

Clark Griffith: Senators pitcher, manager and owner -- 1912-49

Bucky Harris: Senators second baseman and manager -- 1919-28, ‘35-42, ‘50-54

Frank Howard: Senators outfielder/first baseman -- 1965-71
