Nationals.TV is Free to Fans for Spring Training
Spring Training games will be available for free for fans on Nationals.TV, the new destination for local Washington Nationals games beginning this season. The inaugural season of Nationals.TV will feature Dan Kolko as the Nationals’ play-by-play broadcaster sitting alongside analyst Kevin Frandsen and joined by host and reporter Alexa Datt. The exciting trio will be on the call for select Nationals games this Spring Training, beginning with the team’s Grapefruit League opener at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, with a split-squad matchup versus the Houston Astros at CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches. In addition to MLB’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform, Nationals regular-season games will also be available to in-market fans on cable and satellite television. Information on cable and satellite providers, including specific channel locations, will be announced ahead of Opening Day.
The Nationals are one of a number of teams whose local games will be produced and distributed by MLB. In recent seasons, local games produced by MLB have featured special broadcast elements, increased access and technical innovation, including enhancements like Wire Cam and shallow depth RF cameras, which will be part of the new Nationals.TV viewing experience this season. MLB has won Sports Emmy Awards for its local game production of the Padres and Twins. In addition, MLB Network has won multiple national Sports Emmy Awards for its game production since 2009.
