“Road to the Show,” produced by the Emmy Award-winning MLB Network, debuted with its pilot episode on July 1 and continues with episode 2 on Friday.
The five-part series takes viewers through the defining moments that shape baseball's next generation -- capturing the pressure, sacrifice and determination involved in pursuing a Major League dream while highlighting the families, coaches and teammates who make that journey possible. The series features four MLB prospects and two top college prospects who are expected to be taken in the first round of the MLB Draft on Saturday.
On the second episode, MLB's No. 2 Draft prospect Roch Cholowsky turns 21 and heads to New York City and New Jersey with his UCLA team for a series against Rutgers. The team celebrates a program-record 23rd straight victory and makes a visit to MLB Network. Viewers also get a glimpse of the Cholowsky family barbeque that has become a tradition for the Bruins this season and has been credited with building camaraderie and a winning culture for the squad this season.
The episode also introduces the newest member of the Lebron family -- puppy Koda. Justin Lebron gets a dog and viewers are given an in-depth look into MLB's No. 9 Draft prospect's love of all animals as well as his impact at Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on and off the field. Lebron has left a lasting legacy while drawing inspiration from younger brother Jayden, who was born with Williams syndrome.
Ever wonder what type of routine could make you MLB's No. 1 prospect? Get an up-close look at Jesús Made's daily grind as the 19-year-old Brewers prospect shares his struggles with adjusting to life outside of the Dominican Republic for the first time, learning a new language and the lack of familiar seasonings on his food.
Then grab a bite with the Rockies' Ethan Holliday. MLB's No. 17 prospect opens up about his love for DoorDash, golf and the lasting impression that playing for Team USA at the World Baseball Classic made on him this year.
The episode then heads to Birmingham, Alabama, where Braden Montgomery celebrates his 23rd birthday with family and teammates. MLB's No. 23 prospect discusses the focus and drive that led to his promotion from Double-A to Triple-A. A few weeks later, he got the call to the White Sox for his big league debut.
Finally, be in the room when Phillies' 2025 first-rounder Gage Wood finds out he's not just getting promoted, but would be skipping the High-A level and going from Single-A to Double-A. MLB's No. 53 prospect is asked whether he likes lobster, and fortuitously he does, because he'll be joining the Fightin Phils for their series in Portland, Maine.
Each 30-minute episode, narrated by baseball content creator Dan Sarmiento (DSARM), offers an intimate look beyond the box score, chronicling breakthrough performances, setbacks and personal milestones as these rising stars take the next steps in their careers.
The remaining three episodes will air on Sunday, July 19; Sunday, July 26, and Sunday, Aug. 2. The entire series can be streamed on Peacock.
