Rangers announce Neil Leibman stepping down from position with team

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that Neil Leibman, who has served in many roles spanning 16 years with the organization, will step down from his position with the club to focus on other business opportunities, effective immediately.

“Neil has been a constant with the Rangers since our group purchased the club in 2010,” said Rangers Majority Owner Ray Davis. “He was part of some of the most significant moments in franchise history and played a large role in our business operations. His contributions to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will be part of his legacy, as will the building of Globe Life Field and development efforts in the Arlington Entertainment District. Neil has been a friend and business partner for many years, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Leibman’s responsibilities with the Rangers, which include oversight of both REV Entertainment and Rangers Sports Network, will be handled by current staff. Any additional changes in Rangers management structure will be addressed at a later date.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve for many years with this ownership group and front office,” said Leibman. “I am grateful for the opportunity and will cherish everything we have accomplished together. The Rangers have made tremendous progress on numerous fronts during this ownership tenure, and I am proud to have been a part of the most successful period in franchise history. With several other business opportunities on the horizon, I look forward to devoting more time to those efforts.”

Leibman has served as Chairman, Rangers Sports Media & Entertainment Company, which was announced in January 2025 as the parent company for Rangers Sports Network as well as REV Entertainment. He led efforts to build Rangers Sports Network (RSN), a media venture created to produce and distribute the team’s games and other content. He previously served as Rangers COO and President of Business Operations and worked on development opportunities while serving as the Chairman of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

Leibman was an original member of the ownership group that purchased the Rangers in August 2010 and was appointed Chairman of the Rangers Ownership Committee in the spring of 2013. He worked closely with Davis on the agreement to build Globe Life Field and with Loews Hotels & Co. on the Texas Live!, Live! by Loews-Arlington, TX, Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, and One Rangers Way projects.
