PITTSBURGH – After getting a scare from a comebacker that prematurely ended his last start, Reds left-handed pitcher Nick Lodolo is viewed as good to go for his next one.

On Tuesday in the fourth inning vs. the Brewers, Lodolo was hit on his left wrist by a 107.6 mph one-hopper off the bat of Jackson Chourio. Although he was able to continue and battled through a 32-pitch inning to escape with the bases loaded, he was unable to come out for another frame.

“He’s good. He turned a good corner yesterday," manager Terry Francona said.

Lodolo played catch on Friday and had a side session in the bullpen on Saturday.

“Catch play yesterday felt good, so I assume [the bullpen] will feel good today," Lodolo said before heading out of the clubhouse. “It’s definitely still bruised. Because it’s bone, it’s a bone bruise. That over swelling for sure is a good thing. There’s no muscles there or anything, just bone.”

Lodolo is scheduled to face Milwaukee again on Monday at American Family Field.

Dunn to get more testing
Center fielder Blake Dunn was out of Saturday's lineup vs. the Pirates as he continues to deal with right elbow discomfort. Dunn felt something while uncorking a long throw to the plate on a fifth-inning sacrifice fly during Friday's 6-4 win.

An MRI exam was taken on Saturday, but it's very likely Dunn will return to Cincinnati on Sunday for further tests before there's a diagnosis.

“Until we get more back, he will stay with us today. And then we’ll try to get as much information as we can," Francona said.

Dunn exited Friday when he reported pain trying to swing a bat and noted there was still discomfort on Saturday. No roster move was made, and he was still viewed as available to pinch-run.

“He’s able to do some things for us," Francona said.
